Man dead after a two-vehicle collision along north side of Lake Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA)

On early Tuesday morning, a man driving a golf cart on a highway lost his life following a rear-ended collision along north side of Lake Tahoe.

As per the initial information, the fatal crash took place on westbound Highway 28 in Tahoe City just after 6:20 a.m. The wreck occurred near the Grove Street exit, which is next to the Tahoe City Golf Course. The early reports showed that a 2018 Honda, being driven by a Kings Beach man in his 50s, was traveling directly behind the golf cart.

The driver failed to notice the golf cart in front of him and crashed into it from behind at an unknown speed. The force of the collision ejected the driver from the golf cart. The man died of his injuries as a result of the accident. Drugs or alcohol did not seem to be involved in the crash. The utility golf cart belonged to the Tahoe City Downtown Association. No further details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
