On early Tuesday morning, a man lost his life following a traffic collision on the city’s North Side.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place shortly before 2:30 a.m. near Patricia Drive and Belair Drive, not far from Churchill High School. The early reports showed that a man in his 20s or early 30s was heading southeast on Patricia when his vehicle struck a median following which the driver failed to maintain control of his pickup truck. After that, the vehicle crashed into a pole and spun onto Belair Drive.
On arrival, firefighters attempted to extricate the man from the truck. They cut the roof off the vehicle in order to get the driver out. The victim suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The incident did not cause any other injuries. According to the authorities, speed likely played a factor in the collision. Multiple agencies answered the call. No other details are made available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
