On Monday, a man lost his life following an auto-pedestrian collision in Nashville.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place on Old Hickory Boulevard and Frist Boulevard. A bystander informed the officials that they saw the man’s body at 7:30 a.m., lying next to a guardrail.
The early reports revealed that the victim was walking along or crossing the far left southbound lane of Old Hickory Boulevard between Frist Boulevard and the I-40 West entrance ramp. At some point of time, he got struck by a vehicle and thrown to the center median where he hit the guardrail.
It seems that the collision happened sometime during the night. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. Evidence at the scene showed that the hit-and-run vehicle may be red or maroon in color and missing the driver’s side mirror cover.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the deceased. There are reportedly no sidewalks/crosswalks or street lighting in that area of the roadway. No other details are made available.
The incident remains under active review.
