A crash on Interstate 44 about a mile west of Halltown left one driver with serious injuries early Sunday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol's preliminary report says the collision occurred around 2:44 a.m. on June 28 and involved a 2022 Lexus ES traveling westbound and a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia traveling eastbound. Investigators with the patrol, whose Troop D covers the area, responded to the scene in Lawrence County.

A 25-year-old male driver from Belleville, Michigan, sustained serious injuries in the crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. He was transported for medical treatment following the collision.
