Intoxicated driver crashes, causing damage to DOT highway barrier (Franklin County, WA)

Police have detained a suspected inebriated driver in Franklin County on Friday morning. The alleged accused had crashed along Highway 395, damaging Washington State Department of Transportation barrier.

According to Trooper Chris Thorson with Washington State Patrol, a 911 caller informed the crash at about 5:20 a.m. on Highway 395 at SR 17.

Before the crash, the driver was allegedly driving ‘erratically’ and racing along, according to the caller. However, police have not revealed the name of the arrested driver.

According to WSP, on arriving at the on scene, troopers arrested the driver for DUI.

Later, authorities cleared the scene for traffic.

They shifted the driver to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Afterwards, police booked him.
