Injuries reported after a wreck on Vasco Road (Byron, CA)

On Friday, a traffic collision Friday on Vasco Road led to injuries.

As per the initial information, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the area at Vasco Road near Camino Diablo in Byron after getting reports of a head-on crash at 6:15 pm Friday. It was reported that up to four vehicles were involved in the wreck.

By 6:25 pm, AMR arrived at the scene to a two-vehicle accident with major damage and two vehicles fully engulfed. Engine 59 arrived on scene and reported a five-vehicle pile-up with major damage, one vehicle on fire. A third AMR unit was called.

As of 6:34 pm, it was reported that there were a total of 6 total patients with one moderate injury. Two people were pinned in a vehicle due to the collision. A total of 4 AMR units were called to the scene. By 6:45 pm, a SIGALERT was announced as both directions were closed down. As of 8:40 pm, the roadway was open. No other details are available.

The wreck remains under review.
