On Monday morning, a crash in Foster City led to injuries.
As per the initial information, the traffic collision took place at about 6:20 a.m. on the high-rise section of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge approaching Foster City. The early reports showed that a big rig and at least one other vehicle were involved in the accident.
According to the officials, the incident led to injuries, but it is unknown how many people in total were involved in the crash, and the extent of their injuries is also unclear. All westbound lanes were shut down as crews worked at the scene while eastbound lanes remained open.
By 7 a.m. the left lane was back open and the right and center lanes remained blocked. Motorists reported being stuck on the bridge for more than two hours. All lanes were back open by approximately 10:15 a.m. but westbound traffic was still solidly backed up to just past the toll plaza. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
