The Scottsdale Police Department reported a bicycle accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred near Lincoln Drive and 87th Terrace. It happened at about 3.30 p.m.
The Police were called to the scene where a mother and her infant had been involved in a bicycle crash.
Both the mother and the infant were taken to the hospital following examination by the paramedics.
The officials confirmed that the infant died on Thursday.
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
The cause of the fatal accident has not been determinedby the authorities.
The officials reported that the infant was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
