Hundreds of residents left without power after a stolen truck hits utility poles in Studio City (Los Angeles, CA)

Hundreds of residents were left without power after a stolen pickup truck crashed into two utility poles early Monday morning in Studio City.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at around 3:30 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard, near the intersection with Tujunga Avenue. The early reports showed that a pickup ended up on the sidewalk, with two power poles down after the crash. It is unclear if the driver stayed at the scene or fled.

According to the officials, the truck was stolen in North Hollywood, at the intersection Lankershim and Chandler boulevards. The crash disrupted power to 564 L.A. Department of Water and Power customers. The power was not expected to be restored until at least 8 a.m. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
