A vehicle crashed into the Holts Summit Post Office on Thursday afternoon, prompting a temporary closure of the building, according to Holts Summit Police Chief Caleb Groner.

The collision happened around 2 p.m. when an older individual driving the vehicle accidentally struck the post office structure, Groner said. No injuries were reported among those inside or nearby, and the incident involved only the one vehicle.

Following the crash, postal operations at the location were suspended for the remainder of the day as officials assessed the damage. The Holts Summit Post Office reopened to the public on Friday, resuming normal service after the closure.

The Holts Summit Police Department responded to the scene and characterized the crash as accidental. No further details about the extent of damage to the building or the vehicle have been released.

This report will be updated as officials release more information.
