Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Coyote Drive about a mile south of Joplin, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred the afternoon of Oct. 3, 2026, at approximately 4:55 p.m., per the agency's online crash report.

A 2018 Toyota 4Runner was traveling southbound while a 2025 Toyota X5E was headed northbound when the two vehicles collided, the Patrol reported.

All four people involved were taken to area hospitals for treatment. A 37-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, while a 31-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries, according to the crash report.

The crash falls under the jurisdiction of Troop D, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. The incident is logged under case number 260421335.
