Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on MO 53 about two miles south of Poplar Bluff, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred the night of September 7, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., per a preliminary patrol report.

The Highway Patrol said a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo and a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, both traveling southbound, were involved in the collision. All five occupants were transported for medical treatment following the crash, the report states.

Among those injured were two juveniles who sustained minor injuries and a third juvenile who suffered serious injuries, according to the patrol. A 25-year-old female driver and a 26-year-old male occupant were also reported to have minor injuries.

The crash was investigated by Troop E of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Butler County. No fatalities were reported.
