A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 Westbound at Interstate 170 left five people injured Saturday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash, investigated by Troop C, involved a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse traveling westbound, the Patrol's preliminary online crash report shows. The vehicle was carrying six occupants at the time of the incident, which was recorded at approximately 2:55 p.m. local time.
According to the Patrol, three juvenile occupants sustained moderate injuries and were taken for medical treatment. A 27-year-old man from Springfield, Mo., who was riding in the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was also transported for care. The 38-year-old driver, a St. Louis resident, sustained serious injuries as well and was taken for treatment.
Light drizzle was falling in the area at the time, according to weather data, with temperatures near 90 degrees and light winds.
No fatalities were reported in connection with the crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle incident.
