Officials state that a Houston firefighter was seriously injured in a crash Saturday morning near New Caney.
The head-on collision took place when the firefighter was on his way to work. The multi-vehicle incident is reported to have taken place on FM 1485 just northwest of the New Caney area and involved a pickup truck crossing the center line into oncoming traffic.
The Chief of the Fire Department stated that the firefighter was taken to Kingwood Hospital where they required surgery for several fractures.
Reasons for the cause of the collision are hitherto unknown, as is information relating to the individual’s present condition.
