A woman lost her life after being struck by a train east of downtown Reno Tuesday night.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident was reported just before 10:00 p.m. near Sage Street and Commercial Row. On arrival, paramedics performed lifesaving measures on the victim, but were unsuccessful.
The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Sage and Sutro Streets were shut down while crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation is underway.
