A female pedestrian lost her life after a DUI crash Tuesday night in San Rafael while authorities detained the motorist for driving under the influence.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 9:00 p.m. on Rubicon Court. The preliminary reports showed that a 2016 Land Rover was heading northbound on Rubicon Court when the driver struck an adult female pedestrian who was standing in the roadway.
The woman was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the Land Rover stayed at the scene after the accident and was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time. The driver was not hurt in the crash. No further details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
