Fatality reported after a traffic collision in San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)

A traffic collision Tuesday morning in San Francisco led to a fatality.

As per the initial information, the fatal crash was first reported at 1:06 a.m. on southbound Interstate Highway 280 just north of the Monterey Boulevard off-ramp. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time.

The CHP announced a Sig-alert due to the incident, and at least three lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 280 were shut down during the investigation. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is underway.
