One person was killed after a traffic collision Friday in Byron.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area of Byron Highway and Mountain House Road after getting reports of a two-car crash at around 5:55 a.m. The early reports showed that an SUV and a sedan were involved in the accident.
The crash also led to the closure of the highway in both directions. A Sig-alert for severe traffic came into effect about 6:30 a.m. and remained that way until about 11:10 a.m. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. No other details are available.
An investigation is underway.
