Fatality reported after a fiery wreck in downtown Fresno (Fresno, CA)

One person was killed after a fiery crash Monday afternoon in downtown Fresno.

As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle accident took place in the area of Highway 41 and Tulare Street. The early reports showed that at least one of the vehicles burst into flames due to the wreck.

One of the vehicles reportedly veered off the roadway and went down an embankment, where it slammed into a palm tree and triggered a grass fire. That driver died of their injuries. It is unknown if the incident caused any other injuries. The circumstances surrounding the crash also remain unclear. No other information is available.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
