A 52-year-old woman from Essex died following a two-vehicle crash on US 60 just north of Essex, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred the evening of September 5, 2026, around 8:30 p.m., in an area under Troop E jurisdiction, the Patrol's online crash report states. Investigators say a 2011 Ford F150 and a 2025 Toyota Tacoma were both traveling westbound on US 60 when the crash happened about a half mile north of Essex.
Four people were injured or killed in the crash, per the Patrol's preliminary report. The 52-year-old Essex woman suffered fatal injuries and was transported for medical treatment. A 45-year-old woman from Dexter sustained moderate injuries and was also taken for treatment. An 18-year-old male driver from Poplar Bluff and a juvenile occupant each suffered minor injuries and were transported to receive medical care.
