Early-morning smash causes major injury to Passenger (Elko, NV)

Police are conducting a through probe following a crash that allegedly slammed and injured a person while speeding away from the scene in the Central Las Vegas valley on Sunday.

Authorities received a report around 5:30 p. m. about a person lying in the street on Desert Inn Road near Pioneer Avenue, just east of Decatur Boulevard.

Bystanders told police that the person was smashed by a black sedan, which hurried away after the hit. The victim, who was suffering from a head injury was admitted to UMC. However, the injuries are not of critical nature, as per officials.

Eastbound Desert Inn was cordoned off for inquiry. No other details were released regarding the accident.
