Driver hurt after a semi-truck hit and knocked down electric wires in Augusta (Augusta, GA)

On Thursday, one person was hurt after an 18-wheeler struck some electrical wires in Augusta.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle wreck was reported at 4 p.m. on Deans Bridge Road and Murphy Road. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of an 18-wheeler was making a turn onto private property when it hit some electrical wires which brought down four large power poles.

According to the officials, the incident led to only minimal injuries. The intersection of Deans Bridge Road at Murphy Road was closed as crews worked at the scene. At 11:23 p.m. Thursday night, authorities reported that the lanes have reopened. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
