A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle slammed into a garage and caught on fire at a house Saturday afternoon in Glendale.
As per the initial information, the traffic collision took place in the area of 7800 West Solano Drive. Initially, the authorities responded to a call around 4 p.m. from someone saying a vehicle had struck their vehicle and sped off near Westgate Entertainment District.
Officers saw the driver and tried to pull him over. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and smashed into the garage of a house. The force of the collision caused a vehicle parked in the garage to hit the house. Firefighters actively responded and put out the flames before spreading to the house.
It is unknown if the incident caused any injuries. One resident was in the house at the time of the accident but remained unharmed. The driver was detained and booked on misdemeanor charges. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
