A multi-vehicle crash shut down lanes in the northbound side of Providence Road in Columbia on Friday night, according to an ABC 17 News reporter at the scene.

The collision was reported near the turn lane leading to a Waffle House location, the reporter observed. Boone County Joint Communications confirmed dispatch of emergency crews at 8:38 p.m.

Lanes on Providence Road were closed in the area as crews responded to the crash. The number of vehicles involved and the extent of any injuries have not been released.
