According to the California Highway Patrol, a Yuba City couple, Janette Pantoja 29, and Juan Almanza Zavala, 36 were killed in a motor vehicle crash.
The officials stated that the couple was reported missing on August 6 after attending Hot August Nights in Reno.
A witness spotted a vehicle off an embankment near Poker Flat Road near Penn Valley and Smartsville at around 5 p.m.
Police identified the victims. Both the victims were declared dead at the scene by the Police.
The crash occurred 100 miles from Reno and 30 minutes from Yuba City.
It is not clear if the victims were ejected or possibly survived the initial impact.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the CHP.
