Contractor died after being hit by an 18-wheeler on a NE Harris County highway (Crosby, TX)

A litter contractor was killed after being hit by an 18-wheeler Thursday afternoon while crossing a highway in Crosby.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place around noon at U.S. 90 eastbound at FM 2100. The worker was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The big rig driver remained behind to talk to investigators.

All northbound lanes at FM 2100 were closed down as crews worked at the scene. Officials advised motorists to seek an alternate route. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
