Child injured after getting struck by a car in Shreveport; driver sought (Shreveport, LA)

On Thursday afternoon, a child was hospitalized after she was struck by a vehicle while getting off a school bus in Shreveport.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place at approximately 4 p.m. at the intersection of Jewella Avenue and Silver Pines Road. The early reports showed that a silver SUV Cadillac Escalade hit the little girl for undetermined reasons. The vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

On arrival, medical personnel rushed the child to Ochsner LSU Health with broken bones and suspected internal injuries. Her injuries were initially believed to be life-threatening, but it was later reported that she is awake and alert, and expected to survive. Authorities are reviewing surveillance video in hopes of identifying the hit-and-run vehicle and the suspect. No other details are made available.
