On Monday morning, a child was hurt following a traffic collision involving a school bus on the New Orleans West Bank in Waggaman.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 6:00 a.m. in the 7400 block of River Road, near the street’s intersection with Willswood Lane in Waggaman. The early reports showed that the driver of the bus failed to maintain control of the vehicle and the bus went into a ditch.
There were 8 children on the bus at that time and only one of them received minimal injuries. Officers confirmed a citation to the bus driver for careless operation. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
