On Wednesday, a 3-year-old girl was hurt after a car crashed into a home on the Northeast Side.
The single-vehicle crash took place shortly after 11:45 p.m. at a home on Wyndale Street, just off Harry Wurzbach Road and Loop 410. The preliminary investigation revealed that a man was speeding down Dalewood Place when he missed a turn at the intersection and plowed into the home.
A 3-year-old child and her dad were inside the home at the time of the collision. The child was injured as a result of the crash whereas her father remained uninjured. Reports further added that a nurse from San Antonio Military Medical Center was on her way home when she saw the accident. She quickly went into the debris to help the little girl. The child was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle ran off, but officers found him a few blocks away. He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. It is unknown how many charges he will face. Authorities have not provided the damage estimate the crash caused to the home.
The crash remains under investigation.
