Boy killed after a bicycle accident in San Jacinto (San Jacinto, CA)

A boy riding a bicycle was killed after being hit by a pickup in San Jacinto.

As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle accident took place in the 400 block of Bryce Canyon Way, just north of the Ramona Expressway at about 11:30 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that a westbound Dodge Ram 3500 heavy-duty pickup hauling a utility trailer struck the bicyclist for undetermined reasons.

Authorities confirmed that the cyclist died in the crash. The Dodge driver stayed at the scene after the accident. The motorist was questioned, but officials made no arrest. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved in the wreck. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
