On Monday night, a man lost his life following a bicycle crash near Alta Avenue.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place shortly before 7:00 p.m. near Alta Avenue and Manning Avenue. The preliminary investigation showed that the man in his 50s or 60s was riding his bicycle on the southbound shoulder of Alta Avenue when a passing car hit him.
The vehicle drove away from the scene after the collision. A person found the bicyclist down on the ground and called 911 for help. On arrival, emergency responders performed CPR on the victim, but he died of his injuries later. Officials have not provided any details of the hit-and-run vehicle.
