Authorities identified 18-year-old Bella Azalea Cazarez, of American Canyon, Sundari Willow Rose Lauher, of St. Helena, and 18-year-old Estrella Gomez, of Vallejo, as the victims who suffered injuries following a DUI crash on early Sunday morning in Napa Valley.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at about 12:05 a.m. on the Silverado Trail south of Yountville Cross Road. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a northbound Honda failed to maintain control of the vehicle as a result of which the car flipped over and hit a utility pole.
On arrival, medical personnel rushed one of the passengers of the Honda, 18-year-old Bella Azalea Cazarez to a hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Honda, Sundari Willow Rose Lauher, and a second passenger, Estrella Gomez were also transported to the Queen with minimal injuries.
Officers later arrested and booked Sundari Willow Rose Lauher at Napa County jail for felony DUI. According to the responders, two other passengers of the Honda, an 18-year-old from Pope Valley and a 17-year-old from Angwin, refused to be taken to the hospital. No other details are made available.
The crash remains under review.
