Auto-pedestrian crash in South Austin kills one (Austin, TX)

An auto-pedestrian crash claims life of a person in South Austin Sunday night. The incident caused traffic blockage on Menchaca Road from both directions.

At 6:43p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS along with Austin Police and Fire rapidly responded to the scene on West Ben White Boulevard at Menchaca Road.

At that moment, medics had started performing CPR on one patient when authorities were closing down roads at the affected area.

Later, an update came that an adult patient has died at the scene.

Police confirmed that the driver stayed on scene. Also, police did not make any arrests.

Officials have currently blocked the frontage road on West Ben White Boulevard at Menchaca Road. Plus, they have shut down both sides of Menchaca Road due to the crash.

Avoid the area if possible. Furthermore, expect long traffic delays as investigators continue to work.
