Authorities identified 7-year-old Quintus Saison who lost his life in a bicycle crash in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
He was Quintus Saison, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. His death was termed as an accident. Investigators reveal that Quintus was riding his bike in the complex located at 4375 Boulder Highway when a truck taking a “gentle left turn” in the parking lot struck the child, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Bret Ficklin said Friday.
On arrival, medics rushed Quintus to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died. According to a statement from the department, a 26-year-old man felt that his Chevrolet Silverado’s back tire hit something. The driver stopped the car and rendered aid to the child until first responders arrived at the scene.
Speed or impairment are not considered to be factors in the crash, Ficklin said. Las Vegas police initially described the child as 8 years old, but the coroner’s office on Monday confirmed that the boy was 7.
