Authorities identified 60-year-old James O’Connor who died after being hit by a vehicle in Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Phoenix police identified 60-year-old James O’Connor as the man who lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in Phoenix.

Officers actively responded to the area just east of north Seventh Street and Bell Road at around 6 p.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian accident. The investigation reports showed that a vehicle was heading west on Bell Road when O’Connor fell or stumbled into the roadway and was hit by the vehicle.

O’Connor was then rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Impairment and speed were not believed to be involved in the accident. No other details are available at this time.

An investigation is continuing.
