Authorities identified 59-year-old Gerardo Lofra Luevano who died in a pedestrian crash (Santa Clarita, CA)

Authorities identified 59-year-old Gerardo Lofra Luevano as the man who lost his life following a crash in Frazier Park, several miles north of the Santa Clarita Valley, earlier this month.

Sheriff-Coroner Donny Youngblood of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Gerardo Lofra Luevano, 59, of Lebec, died in the pedestrian accident. At about 5:50 a.m. on Friday Nov. 5, Luevano was hit by a vehicle on Frazier Mountain Park Road, West of Grand Terrace Estates, in Frazier Park, according to Youngblood.

Luevano was pronounced deceased on arrival, Youngblood stated. A postmortem examination was performed and the cause of death was multiple blunt force traumatic injuries and the manner of death was an accident. It is not clear if the involved driver stopped at the scene after hitting the pedestrian.

An investigation continues.
