Authorities identified 59-year-old Enrique Ruiz as the California man who was among the four people killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas earlier this week.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle pile-up was reported on southbound I-15 near mile marker 20 at about 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10. The Clark County Coroner’s office identified them as Shahriar Khodadadi, 39, of Santa Monica, and Enrique Ruiz, 59, of Fontana. The cause and manner of death are still pending.
The coroner’s office previously identified Erica Morell, 37, of Henderson, saying she died from blunt trauma. The manner of her death has been termed an accident. The name of fourth person who died in the crash remains undisclosed.
The investigation reports showed that a red Cadillac was going north on the southbound side when it collided head-on with a Toyota pickup truck heading south. The Toyota caught fire, and all three occupants were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac, identified as a woman, also succumbed to her injuries at the scene. No other information is available.
An investigation is continuing.
