Authorities identified 58-year-old Gary Leaver, of Madison, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Madison.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place on Archwood Drive and State Route 45. At about 3:45 p.m. a car stopped at Archwood Drive before it continued traveling straight. Just then, a pickup truck collided with the car’s passenger side door. Eyewitnesses in the area informed officials that there was nothing the driver of the pickup could have done to avoid the crash.
Both the car’s driver and the passenger were immediately taken to Skyline Medical Center, where the passenger, identified as Gary Leaver, succumbed to his injuries. His wife sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. On the other hand, the driver of the pickup truck remained unharmed.
The crash remains under review.
