Authorities identified 58-year-old Floyd Gray II, of Sibley, as the man who lost his life following a crash on LA Hwy 528, just west of U.S. Hwy 371.
As per the initial information, the fatal solo-vehicle accident took place just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25. The preliminary investigation showed that 58-year-old Floyd Gray II was heading east on L.A. Hwy 528 in a 2019 Ford pickup when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the roadway. Then, the vehicle drove through a ditch, went airborne and rolled over. Gray was reportedly buckled up at the time of the accident.
He was then rushed to the Minden Medical Center with major injuries. On the morning of Friday, Nov. 26, Gray died from his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. Officials believe that impairment was not involved in the incident. However, routine toxicology samples were collected and sent for analysis.
The investigation continues.
