Authorities identified 57-year-old Donald Jackson who died after an auto-pedestrian crash in Lafayette (Lafayette, LA)

Officials identified 57-year-old Donald Jackson, of Scott, as the man who lost his life following an auto-pedestrian collision Sunday night in Lafayette.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place in the 2600 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette. The preliminary investigation revealed that Jackson was going northbound on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, when he got hit by a vehicle that was also going northbound.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene after the collision and continued heading northbound on Ambassador Caffery. No other details have been provided by the officials.

The incident remains under active review.
