On Tuesday, authorities identified 53-year-old Carlos Aceves as the man who sustained major injuries after his pickup truck slammed into a tree along Hondo Pass.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place in the 4500 block of Hondo Pass on Monday afternoon. The crash scene was in some bushes in front of an IHOP restaurant. Traffic Investigators responded to the area just after 2 p.m.
Investigators are trying to find out if Aceves had some type of medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his pickup, swerve off the road and crash into the tree in front of a restaurant. Carlos Aceves, 53, of northeast El Paso remained hospitalized Tuesday in critical condition at University Medical Center. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
