Authorities identified 37-year-old Gerry John Lasseigne who died in a motorcycle crash (Vermilion Parish, LA)

Authorities identified 37-year-old Gerry John Lasseigne, of Carencro, as the man who lost his life in a motorcycle crash that happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The investigation reports showed that Lasseigne was traveling north on LA 343 on his 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at about 2 p.m. when Michael Kagle, of Texas, driving a southbound 2011 Peterbilt 18-wheeler made a left turned onto LA 697 in front of Lasseigne.

Just then, the motorcycle collided with the 18-wheeler’s right wheels near its cab. The Vermilion Parish Coroner’s Office declared Lasseigne deceased at the scene. On the other hand, Kagle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was not hurt.

An investigation continues.
