Authorities identified 22-year-old Terrance Griffin who died in a car accident on I-520 in Augusta (Augusta, GA)

Authorities identified 22-year-old Terrance Griffin, of Jackson, as the man who lost his life Sunday following a traffic collision on I-520 eastbound.

Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed in a statement that Terrance Griffin, 22, of Jackson, S.C., was heading east on I-520, near Doug Bernard Parkway, at high speeds when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle and plowed into a tree. The investigation reports showed that the sheriff’s office actively responded to the crash scene at 1:46 p.m.

Bowen further stated that Griffin was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center where he was declared deceased at 2:43 p.m. Reports also added that an autopsy will not be performed. Bowen also confirmed that the cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries.
