Officials report that a multi-vehicle accident occurred on the westbound lane of Interstate 80 in Fairfield on Thursday afternoon.
Officials from the local fire department say that the crash occurred near the Manuel Capos Parkway intersection on the city’s north side.
The crash involved many vehicles, inclusive of a jackknifed semi. The incident caused the westbound lanes to be closed for some time, California Highway Patrol stated. 3 people involved in the incident were brought to a local hospital to be treated. 4 people were treated for minor injuries sustained at the scene of the incident.
Patrol officers disclosed no further details regarding the cause of the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
