At least 1 Person Killed In A Wrong-Way Crash In Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)

Authorities responded to a wrong-way crash that killed at least one person. The crash happened on the southbound lanes of the downtown connector near North Avenue early Monday morning. 

The collision involved two vehicles.

According to the authorities, a driver was heading the wrong way at Williams Street in the HOV lane. Investigators said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were transported to the hospital for unknown injuries. 

Following the collision, the westbound lanes were shut down for several hours. It is unclear what caused the crash and if alcohol was a factor.

 An investigation into the crash is under review.
