The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday.
The deadly crash occurred on the westbound side of Loop 101, near 67th Avenue, around 4 p.m.
The officials reported that a utility truck, a semi-truck, and two other cars were involved in the collision.
Following the crash, two people were rushed to the hospital. The officials have only confirmed that one of the victims is dead.
The condition of the other victim is not known.
The cause of the fatal accident has not been revealed. It is still being investigated by the officials.
The westbound lanes were closed due to the accident but were soon reopened.
