At least one person died after a wreck Monday morning in Carson.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle accident was reported at 4:20 a.m. on the San Diego (405) Freeway at Wilmington Avenue. The early reports showed that a work truck, a sedan and possibly a pickup were involved in the collision.
According to the eyewitnesses, the work truck and sedan were blocking the HOV lane and that another truck was pulled over at the Wilmington Avenue exit. A witness informed the CHP that one person was lying on the ground.
Drywall and debris were scattered hundreds of feet into lanes. A Sig Alert was announced at 5:18 a.m. for the HOV lane and lanes 1, 2 and 3. No other information is available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
