An SUV struck and killed a man who was working behind a work truck in the median (Phoenix, AZ)

On Wednesday afternoon, a man working behind his work truck was killed after being hit by an SUV in north Phoenix.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place in the area of Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard at about 2 p.m. The early reports showed that an SUV driver collided with the work truck that was parked in the median with road cones around it, and then hit the man.

The man, whose identity has not been released yet, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. On the other hand, the SUV driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities asked drivers to avoid the area while they worked at the scene.

The crash remains under review.
