On Tuesday afternoon, Adrian Marc Encalarde, from Sunset, lost his life following a traffic collision in St. Landry Parish.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Boxie Road in Sunset. The early reports showed that the driver of the vehicle went off the road and hit an excavator that was parked on private property near the shoulder of Boxie Road.
Encalarde suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Blood was drawn from Encalarde and toxicology results are pending; however, speed is suspected to have contributed to the collision. The man was not buckled up at the time of the accident. No other details are available.
An investigation onto the crash is continuing.
