A vehicle struck and killed a bicyclist in east Harris County; driver sought (Harris County, TX)

On late Tuesday, a bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in east Harris County.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place at around 11:45 p.m. in the 14100 block of the East Freeway service road, close to Freeport Street. The preliminary investigation showed that the victim was riding in the westbound lanes when a vehicle struck him from behind. The driver did not pull over to render aid.

On arrival, emergency responders found the rider dead. Officials are still searching for the suspect and the vehicle involved in the crash. There were no witnesses to the accident, authorities stated. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under active review.
